Impacts of climate change on human health
![]() |
The climate and weather already has a strong influence on human health through natural disasters and sudden harsh conditions, such as heat waves.
According to scientists, this influence is set to grow. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has put together a list of both current and projected effects of climate change on human health.
From new patterns of infectious disease outbreaks to how variable climates affect food and water supplies, the impact is varied.
However, most worryingly, the WHO predicts that it will be developing countries, with weaker health infrastructure to cope, that will be worst hit by the impacts.
