The week's snowfall in numbers

It has been the most widespread snowfall the UK has seen for 18 years with daily life almost coming to a standstill.
From the Channel Islands to the Shetland Islands, Brecon Beacons to East Anglia, the snow has blanketed the entire country.
The road networks in particular have been hit hard with the Highways Agency deploying its entire 500-strong fleet of winter vehicles to grit them.
However, many roads still became impassable with the bus service in London grinding to a halt on Monday for the first time since the Blitz.
